Celebrating New Year's Eve with your Baby

The year is coming to an end, we’re counting the last days of 2019, and soon we’ll celebrate the last evening of the year!

Celebrating New Years with kids can be a challenge. Many families like to travel during the holiday season to find the necessary comfort in family-friendly hotels. For all those who would rather stay here and celebrate, we have put together a few tips for a child-friendly and at the same time funny New Year's Eve:

When the clock strikes zero, countless fireworks lit up the sky. An exciting experience for your eyes, no question! But unfortunately, it is not exactly harmless to the ears, especially not for your baby’s ears. To protect your baby from the noise and chaos, it's a good idea to stay indoors and watch the fireworks spectacle from your own four walls. Whether you’re inside or outside: When there is so much going on, it is important to offer your baby a familiar closeness and a place of retreat.  Snuggled in your KOKADI baby carrier close to mom or dad, your child can just lay its head on your chest and hear the familiar heartbeat while you’re able to gently cover the palm of your baby's ear with your hand. At the same time, you can be sure that you will not lose your child in large crowds, because in the KOKADI baby carrier, your baby feels super cozy and is tightly tied to your body.

Unfortunately, sparklers are not the best alternative to fireworks rockets. They contain barium nitrate, which is mildly toxic and should not come into contact with the skin or mucous membrane of children, as it may make breathing difficult and irritate the skin.

Most babies oversleep the happening at midnight. You do not have to wake up your child for that, and in the best case you SHOULDN’T wake her or him up at all: Babies usually do not like being awakened from sleep at all. In fact, it is more likely the case that your baby will be disturbed by the noise and all the visuals rather than be happy about being awake.

Enjoy the whole New Year's Eve excitement from home - a couple of fortune cookies and harmless firework crackers are also fun and guarantee you one thing above all: a nice New Year's Eve that will put a smile on your baby's face.
